“It’s got to make sense for me and my family,” he said, via the Miami Herald. Just days ago, he was asked about whether he hoped to sign one, but commented the process wasn’t something that needed to be rushed, as evidenced over the last couple of months leading up to now. This game could be so much more profitable if the community and ingame events were managed better. All offseason, one of the biggest discussion topics surrounding the Miami Heat - that didn’t include fake trade proposals, or rumors floated into space that they were “interested in player X”, the typical offseason scuttlebutt - was if (and when) Tyler Herro would receive an extension. So terrible announcment, terrible announcment time, terrible announcment way and finally no respect to the playerbase. Now lets be clear when the Thrillson account made the comment- i took it as fact that it will not return because the account made some announcments in the past - the variant 8 if i remember correctly.Ī- The community wanted the deals, was expecting them and will be let down by them not returningī- They announced the no gold deals through a joke account which is not how you break bad news (very bad taste)Ĭ- They announced it 24 hours or less before the eventĭ- They have made 0 communication since the announcement to just talk to the playerbase They absolutly have not- Most we got was Jax saying he hasn't heard anything about it and that was maybe in August or something, It is on the players for making an assumption that a one time thing would return. I'm pretty sure kabam has said multiple times over this year to not expect gold deals to return. Give us something better for Halloween events too while you are at it.

Not using a joke post from a non comedy mod account. Tell us outright a month ago the event wasn't returning. I need to hear this, not because it would do any good or make any of it actually true but this sounds better than an episode of Ancient Aliens on history channel. In the name of our Lord and Savior Silver Centurion, please explain how more thronebreaker summoners means they can announce 7*'s sooner.

We have been manipulated by being allowed to run with the idea while they figured out how to untangle it with thrillson. It will not come back until it is useful to them like it was last time.

They do not care about free to play players,Īnd gold for items is a pro free to play event more than any other before or since. The gold for items offer last year was for a very specific purpose, to push as mant of us to thronebreaker as possible so they could anmounce 7 * as soon as possible (already being a year behind the orginal 7* time line) it was a one off to push us to a level we might spend and to prep for 7s. When I first saw all the scuttle butt about a repeat of last year? I had serious doubts that we had fully understood the announcement and i never believed there were going to be "gold for items" offers. That was what they meant but they let us believe they meant gold for items, not gold itself in the offers. This is on the community! As much as i hate to give kabam anything, they never said there was going to be an "items for gold offer," they said "Gold offers" and there is gold with every offer. Use their words! Correct wrong assumptions immediately instead of wait till the event drops.

TLDR: they should have just ripped the bandaid off and said in clear, straight forward tone to let go of the hyped expectation of a gold event this year.

So in this case, roleplaying deadpool - a sarcastic, breaking the 4th wall, subverting expectations character - was a poor way to communicate the truth of "no gold event." I get what Kabam was trying to do with Thrillson, but if you want to build excitement and expectation, then fun, whimsical, and even sometimes cryptic messaging is a great way to build the imagination. You know, the typical short and sweet (to the point) Kabam Jax responses. The expectation in all forums, reddit, line chats, and youtubers, were trending away from "Do you think there will be a gold event" to "save 8 mill for the possible (but probably) gold event." Therefore, keeping it clear and saying "no gold event this year" would have been better. Do you break up with your significant other in long narratives, or just get to the point? Do you fire someone with a long whimsical build up, or just tell them here is how it is, here's how we move forward? You don't role play a whimsical character, you just get the point and clear the reality of the situation. The best way to break bad news (news that doesn't match the recipient's expectations) is short and to the point.
